Temporary setback for LD #Foundation
We were hoping to get LD into a Foundation year this September but it was not to be. The problem wasn’t quite her results but the personal opinion of the Head of Foundation. Despite confirmation from his own university, and answers to his objections from seven other universities, he remained obdurate.
We are now moving back to our original plan of getting LD into Foundation year next year. The takeaway point from this episode is that no matter how well you plan things, there are always bumps in the road. You will get angry, you will feel murderous. I did, which is why I remained away from the keyboard for the past three weeks. I personally think the best thing to do under those circumstances is to give vent to your feelings for a day and then sit down and, with your child, plan your way out of it. Your feelings won’t diminish, but at least you’ll be using that energy in a positive way.
I have begun the second edition of The Dog Ate My Experiment!, documenting additional insights over TW’s Foundation year. I’ll do the same with LD. The second edition is currently scheduled for release at the end of 2018.
